I’ve Seen the Dark Side…
And Have Come to Know the Solution
I grew up in Southwest Georgia, where virtually all dogs, and most cats, spent their days (and nights) outside making more dogs and cats. My mother instilled in me a love for animals and my first true friend was my childhood kitty Missy.
I watched closely as my Mother demonstrated to me what true guardianship for an animal looked like. She made sure that her pets would not add to the ever exploding population of homeless animals. She provided care for not only our animals, but those abandoned by their guardians or strays within our community.
I’ve seen what can happen when animals are allowed to reproduce without restraint. Most lead a life of loneliness, pain and starvation. But I also had a good mentor, one that demonstrated through action what could be accomplished; one animal at a time.
The Seed is Planted
I left the conference committed to supporting the guardians and pets of Ohio in this way. In 2007 I started my non-profit Pet Alliance and in January 2008 the Board of Directors supported my commitment to launch Spay Ohio.
Spay Ohio is committed to bringing low-cost spay/neuter resources in every community in Ohio. We’re fortunate to have the support of vets, clinics, rescues and shelters in Ohio, but…
Our Journey is Far From Over
Communities in Ohio and across the world struggle with an increasing number of homeless pets. Rescue organizations are swamped with animals and request to house additional animals and find little time between commitments and rescue activities to broaden their scope of knowledge and understanding.
Each of us is blessed with a passion, a specialty at which we excel. Share that expertise and your experience with others through some form of active involvement in the Rescue community to take us all too new heights, new levels of achievement and speed.
I’ve seen how cooperation works miracles in my community – I know it’ll work globally as well. The time for action is upon us, let’s build the legacy together!
Together It's Achievable!

P. S. I’ve got 5 cats at home – Sphinx, Beaver, Wolly, Simba & Misty. If I could save them all I’d surely try, but unfortunately I’m not physically able to do so. But collectively, we can and will!! With your help we can provide a sustainable solution that works in every community.
Thank you for your support in making my vision for a global animal rescue community a reality!
